This neo-gothic style cathedral is one of the emblematic monuments of the city. You can visit the interior and paying an entrance fee look at the museum and take an elevator to one of the towers. There you can have a good view of the city and the surroundings.

You have people with no money for basic necessities yet churches like this exist everywhere here. I have learned much about the church and how they spend their money by visiting many churches all over this country. I suggest visiting as many churches as possible then look around at how much they help the people.

Such a wonderful Cathedral. It is definitely worth the trip from Buenos Aires. There's a little shop outside of the church where you can buy yourself a gift to take home. Lots of beatiful windows inside. Have been to lots of churches. This one is one of the most beautiful I've ever been to!

One can relate the architecture to Spanish origin. Church is kept very nicely. One can feel the piece at god's place. Highly recommend this visit if one is interested in history.

La Plata, a very new city with a few modern buildings of merit, has its top monument in its Cathedral of Neogothic style, the one that approaches the most mankind to divinity, as its architect put it. The whole story of its construction is of interest, its foundation stone was laid in 1884 but work was interrupted for over sixty... More

The Cathedral is very, very big - but really it is just another church. Sure it is nice, but it is not worth a visit to La Plata if you don't have other things to see in the town.

Impressive cathedral in the middle of the capital of Buenos Aires Province , La Plata. We particularly enjoy the visit to the museum were you can ride an elevator that takes you to the top of one of it's towers were you get a 360 view of the city from. Around 60 meters high. At the end of the visit... More

A must see cathedral, you can go up the left tower with a lift to see the city from above. Plus the inside construction and cellars oft he Cathedral itself. If you drop in that city, that's a must see. Then there Plaza Moreno, with the statues "pointing" at the Cathedral. Ask the local guide for that detail.

I studied near this place so I'm quite familiar with it. I always seeked its tranquility when I needed time to reflect. Although not religious I always enjoyed the place, its colorful vitreaux, designed to tell the bible to anyone who played attention, the detailed architecture of the building in it self, always transported me to a time of simplicity....
