While the interior is impressive, don't miss the reflection of the interior in marble on the pavement. This element is repeated throughout the old town.

The church is a superb structure with great paintings and sculptures. The dome is magnificent with gold plated altars. It has one full silver altar. Unfortunately the interior has extremely poor maintenance, the peeling walls and parts of the beautiful ceiling, take away part of the grandiosity of the cathedral.

I was on a tour with a local guide and a group of Spanish speaking tourists. The artwork, historical context and architecture are superb.

Not as ornate from the outside as some, but absolutely gorgeous inside! Amazing! A must see. The alcove areas with the Saints were exquisite. Located right of the plaza.

Beauty of Churches and Architecture, There is so much to visit and travel to the historical journey of the monks who walked over the Mountains by foot.

What you may think is lacking on the outside is totally made up for on the inside. It's a fantastic interior. I actually preferred it's interior to the TA's currently rated no. 1 Capuchinos church - although that churches architectural design is fantastic and shouldn't be missed. The Cathedral: It was free. Easy to find. Centrally located. Really quite nice... More

The few architecturally interesting places in Cordoba appear to be mainly churches. The Catedral is certainly large enough and it is attractive. I can't say I was blown away by it though. Still worth a look though.

The cathedral and the "Iglesia Catedral" are the same site--the city cathedral in the San Martin square. It is not particularly impressive, but an interesting historical site.
