The cathedral of Salta is worth a visit. On the main square with a fine interior and exterior. Do visit.

The Cathedral was quite full for the Sunday evening mass and people seemed to come and go while the service was on and the delivering the sermon. A much more relaxed attendance attitude than I remember in Anglican Cathedrals (not that I am an expert on such matters). The lighting of the alter backdrop was magnificent but much less impressive... More

a stunningly beautiful church, extremely beautiful at night, when the church is illuminated, unfortunately no chance to get up to the tower for a view

Cathedral of Salta is simply beautiful. The exterior architecture is very special and so is the unique interior design.

This is a Cathedral worth a quick visit; by the standards of (e.g.) Spanish Cathedrals, it is not especially impressive though certainly nice and so worth a visit - there are other attractions nearby in the main square. Personally I would rate a visit to the nearby Church of San Francisco higher.

Despite what many people say about Salta City; there are not many nice places to visit. Definitively, the Cathedral its a must. The building its gorgeous and old (yet well preserved), with traditional sacred images. But at both sides of the altar you'll find the most amazing images to see, La Virgen del Milagro and El Señor del Milagro.

There are 3 main churches in Salta city, the red one, the blue one and this is the pink one. It has the eye symbol in its main façade. Located on the plaza of 9 de julio, not sure if it is an attraction.

This is an imposing building which has a lovely pinkish facade with bell towers which look lovely lit up at night, and also reflected in mirrors in a building next door during the day. The ceiling is of interest. It is an active place of worship, not just a tourist destination, so be sensitive if there is a service taking... More
