We were able to make a trip like the ones made by former Patagonia visitors. Fantastic views! Riding the old coaches, visitors travel from Esquel station to Nahuel Pan stop during one hour.

Great trip at a slow pace allowing for viewing of vegetation changes as one ascends through 250m along 19k track if you sit in the tight side. Is a fun ride if you like steam engines. The carriages are classical wooden ones, with a bar...More

I loved this La Trochita journey. Our guide kindly explained highlights in English after the Castellano Spanish, as we rolled through the mystical landscape of Patagonia. She even gave me an audio Mp3 to listen to, a perfect accompaniment for a small section of the...More

The Trochita, also known as the Old Patagonian Express is a fun ride if you like steam engines. There are two options, from Esquel northwards to Nahuel Pan, or from El Maiten southwards, both of which are about 20 Km. We did the Esquel option...More

Great trip at a slow pace allowing for viewing of vegetation changes as one ascends through 250m along 19k track. Museum and souvenirs at top. Good historical commentary and headset for translation available.

We loved the train ride. Helpful staff, informative and well organised. I would recommend it to tourists, As an Argentine resident the price was 50% of the foreigner price - which I think is a little unfair so at 180 argentinian pesos it was well...More

Very friendly guides, I was given an English audio explaining it all.The engine broke down as we left the station but it just added to the character of the place.Try and get a seat facing the platform for the best views.

It's like going to your DVD club to rent "Cinema Paradiso": a very good movie, but specially it has shocking (pleasant) memories. Ok, it's probably not as well conserved as you imagined. Ok, the schedules are not strict (usually gets out with delay) and the...More

La Trochita is a great way to experience travelling through Patagonia the way the early settlers did. It's a short trip now, from Esquel to Nahuel Pan station and back, but the stunning scenery of the Andes foothills and the puffing little steam train itself...More
