What not to do: Day trips!! I did a day tip to Puerto Piramides, Punta Norte and the elephant seal and penguin colonies on the peninsula. It was April and at the end of the season so it was always going to be subject to the elements. Unfortunately I had windy weather so it wasn't pleasant but all in all... More

This site is quite a drive from the Port but well worth every minute. The drive takes us through beautiful and barren landscape. You will see a few sheep and many Guanaco - an alpaca look-alike. then your first stop, after the museum, will take you to the beach and the home of a huge sea lion colony. These huge... More

What a place, What a place, The whole peninsula is just incredible for views and wildlife. The contrast between almost desert and the variety of plants and animal is fabulous. You do need transport to get round and boy are some of those roads dusty!!e whoe penisla

Peninsula Valdes richly deserves it’s designation of a world heritage site. It has been designated as a national park by the Argentine government. There are a few ranches that operate within the park but for the most part it is it’s natural state. The fee for entry to the park currently is AR 260 or approx.. $USD 17. There is... More

Very nice to do on a day tour. Landscapes are beautiful. In summer you will only see penguins, sea lions and sea elephants but no whales. Of course Guanancos are everywhere :).

We spent a whole day at Peninsula Valdes, having lunch at cute Puerto Piramides, enjoying the scenery and witnessing the wildlife at different viewpoints. One word: amazing!!! In my opinion the best is to rent a car to do things at your own pace. Careful though at the gravel roads with the little debris that can damage the windshield.

My other half and I have been there in February 2017. By plane to Trelew and stayed 3 nights in Puerto Madryn. Hired a small Chev vehicle and drove to Valdes and slept one night in Punta Delgada Hotel in Valdes. Filled up the car in Puerto Piramides. Took 8 litres petrol from Puerto Madryn to Piramides. Drove up to... More

A lovely part of the coast with lovely views and lots to see and do, including the Ecocentre. Can be busy if cruise ships are in, but there is much to see and the walks are flat. The beach areas are clean.

We had a private transport with guide from Puerto Madryn. Nice to cross the peninsula. We started with a boat trip in Puerto Piramides and we're lucky to see killer whales in the bay. Also sea lions at short range. On the way to the beaches you can see nandoes, guanacos and maras. Great all-day experience!

Peninsula Valdes is a long ride from Puerto Madryn but we were able to first see a colony of Magellanic penguins and then a number of sea lions spread out on the beach. The penguins were up and close and, while there was a small barrier to keep the humans away, you are able to get close to the penguins.... More
