This museum is small, but has some great exhibits that kids love. There is also a film on Patagonia's history and the glaciers that show the glacier ruptures over the last 15 years. At the end the kids got to color a picture of a...More

A different sort of museum. A different approach to history. The palaeontology part was interesting. The giant mammals were new to us. But we particularly enjoyed the presentation of Patagonia's social history. So recent and so shocking. All this and a convivial "mate" with the...More

It is worth a visit if you have the time when in El Calafate. It is very small and quite interesting to see the dinosaur skeletons, though there is not a great deal else apart from a handful of monochrome pictures and videos in Spanish....More

An excellent activity, informative and fun, it is worth the time. Childrens also will enjoy this, as much as teen agers and adults. from paleontological to present times, there are some dinosaur and mammals fossils, arrowheads, etc.

A wonderful little gem in the middle of El Calafate! A very resourceful place if you want to know a little about the local (pre)history.

Small museum but tells an interesting story. The wording is all very informative and gives a good sense of the story that has taken place in Patagonia. Well presented.

An unexpected find, tucked a few blocks away from the main street. Worth the walk- provides a detailed insight into the history of the region. Good quality exhibits and friendly staff- the mate tea was a highlight!

The explanations of Argentinean history from the time of the dinosaurs to colonialism are surprisingly detailed and intense for such a small museum. We spent a couple of hours here and learned a lot. Take some time to sit down with some mate afterwards to...More
