Moderate trekking difficulty with wonderful lake at the end. If you want to extend your walk, go around the right side of the lake, pass trough a wonderfull dead trees forest, check 'la castorera' and complete the lake path going back via yor right side again.

As a couple in our 50's we found the terrain almost impossible even though we had proper walking boots and hiking poles. We caught the bus from town for ARS 300 each for the return trip taking about half an hour. The terrain is mixed through woods and open land. Mostly muddy and through bogs and rivers. Don't be fooled... More

This hike is so beautiful and very fun! We had a rental car so we drove to the start of the hike and were there early. We did it all on our own. A guide is definitely not needed. The trail is very well marked. There were hardly any other hikers on the trail when we began but the parking... More

This was a lovely walk but you need waterproof shoes as it is not just muddy but you walk through a bog. The path is not always clear when walking over the boggy area but there are plenty of people around and everyone chats and help each other to find the best route. It is 2 Hours to the lake... More

What a beautiful spot! We hiked here in mid Feb with a guide. The view was spectacular as was our box lunch and Malbec wine we enjoyed by the lake. Peat Bogs, beaver dams, gorgeous! The trail can be busy but we left early in the morning and hiked approx 8 miles round trip. We stopped often to take photos... More

Most would agree with the title. I loved the colors, the tranquillity, the setting. But you need good weather to fully enjoy it.

About 15 km east of Ushuaia you can find the Laguna Esmeralda on the left side of the road (driving from Ushuaia). There is a sign at the entrance which you can see from the Routa 3. Visit laguna early in the morning and try to have it for yourself for a moment. The walk is easy (1-2 hours one... More

We liked this trail. The lagoon is beautiful, and also the whole trail is beautiful. You see beaver's lodges and nice landscapes. It is not very steep, but today lots of places on the trail were swampy

One of my favourite trails! It takes about 3 hours total to complete. On a sunny day with no wind you can have a picnic by the beautiful emerald lake. Remember to take your trash and keep it clean! :)
