I love touching books, cds and dvds. I especially love being able to check them out for free!

Although most of the library's materials are old, you can always fill out a request for an item from a different library within the Valley. I've utilized that option numerous times. I also like that if my children miss a checked out item's due date, the library will periodically offer them opportunities to earn past due fees or waive them.... More

Interesting building. Very spacious & pleasant. Esp the elevator ride to top Great Reading room. Built under budget apparently by local hippie architect Bruder. Very desert friendly & good example of ideal hot climate buildings!

I have lived in Phoenix most of my life and this is my first visit to this library. It is an incredible place. I love architecture. It is a beautiful building. A lot of attention paid to the inside and out. It has five floors with an extremely large collection. There are plenty of people there to help you with... More

Normally, one would presume that a library has books to peruse. Well, buckle up, buttercup! Not only does this place have books, they also lend out A/V media like, DVDs and CDs of music. Heck, half of my iTunes is from library originated media. This library has a neat astronomical feature that is fun to see happen when it does.... More

Visited the end of October 2016 and this is definitely a must see when you are in Phoenix. It's a 5 floor library with one of the floors used for administration. There is a glass elevator to ride from floor to floor, which is a quite interesting way to see each floor. This library is also a repository for the... More

This is a fantastic building with beautiful facilities. The only problem is Phoenix's lax attitude towards the Homeless People who take over the desks and bathe in the bathrooms. At least they don't bother people, and I have not had any of my possessions stolen when I've had to leave my desk temporarily. The librarians have been very helpful with... More
