Fun hike! The perfect half day hike when temps are right. Bring water. Fellow hikers always friendly.

Please take water, stay on the trail, pack a snack, continue onward, don't stop. Pure beauty awaits you. If you don't exercise and don't have a lot of ambition and/or stamina, I would suggest not doing it. It is exhilarating and worth the challenge though...More

I am one of those crazy people you would see running up the mountain before my accident. I will do it again some day. Camelback Mountain is worth it. I would not recommend this unless you are in really good shape. In fact, if you...More

Camelback Mountain divides the east Phoenix Valley from Scottsdale. There is a craved out path that leads to the top where the views are spectacular. You can see for miles and miles in all directions. I have pictures from the 1920's from atop the Camel's...More

Popular hiking in Phoenix, except the heat of summer can be deadly. Parking is always an issue. Drink lots of water before you hike.

As soon after sunrise as possible. If you're driving and it's a weekend, parking can fill up quickly. And you beat the heat.
