This historical mission style church is the oldest Catholic Parish in Phoenix. There is a relaxing green space and fountain making it an oasis in the middle of downtown Phoenix. Certainly worth a stroll through while you check out the areas other attractions.

Always a great place to visit if you are in downtown Phoenix. The bells at noon are lovely and there is a cute gift shop.

Beautiful grounds, nice little store and a wonderful place to attend a mass. I did a Saturday mass and it was great. The sound in the Basilica is excellent, stained glass is beautiful along with carvings, Altar is really special.

Beautiful old Roman Catholic church in Central Phoenix. A quiet and refreshing visit for a busy day. A gem hidden and not visited by many.

Another great thing in the area that is free. We were only in the area for 3 days and this was on my list of things to check out. We spent alot of time driving around finding murals and it was looking like we weren't going to have time to stop by. but i mentioned I'd have really liked to... More

I have visited many churches. This one is very beautiful and very special. I highly recommend a visit if in the Phoenix area. The architecture is interesting but mostly it is a place where you just want to light a candle, kneel down and say a prayer.

Very peaceful, beautiful building with stunning stained glass windows and an equally beautiful outdoor park like garden area. Located downtown close to our hotel, it was nice just to take a minute out of a busy day to stop in. Loved seeing the altar railing.

125 year old church with glowing stained glass windows (footnoted with each donors name), heavenly AZ sky blue interior dome, ancient pews and pulpit. Primary ventilation is from numerous cast iron venting ducts on the floor. This is a real working church encompassing decades of spirituality. Adjacent Copper Park is nearly equally peaceful.

My wife and I loved this little church and surrounding park. Very nice stained glass. We got a bit of a kick out of the sign by the side door asking that no guns be brought into the church.

I spotted St Mary's Basilica in Downtown Phoenix, it's relatively new as it was completed in 1914. There is a lovely park attached with seating and statues, a peaceful place for reflection. It a gem in the city and the design is impressive. It's the oldest Catholic parish in Phoenix. It is accessed by steps from street level, inside it's... More
