Another great thing in the area that is free. We were only in the area for 3 days and this was on my list of things to check out. We spent alot of time driving around finding murals and it was looking like we weren't going to have time to stop by. but i mentioned I'd have really liked to... More

I have visited many churches. This one is very beautiful and very special. I highly recommend a visit if in the Phoenix area. The architecture is interesting but mostly it is a place where you just want to light a candle, kneel down and say a prayer.

Very peaceful, beautiful building with stunning stained glass windows and an equally beautiful outdoor park like garden area. Located downtown close to our hotel, it was nice just to take a minute out of a busy day to stop in. Loved seeing the altar railing.

125 year old church with glowing stained glass windows (footnoted with each donors name), heavenly AZ sky blue interior dome, ancient pews and pulpit. Primary ventilation is from numerous cast iron venting ducts on the floor. This is a real working church encompassing decades of spirituality. Adjacent Copper Park is nearly equally peaceful.

My wife and I loved this little church and surrounding park. Very nice stained glass. We got a bit of a kick out of the sign by the side door asking that no guns be brought into the church.

I spotted St Mary's Basilica in Downtown Phoenix, it's relatively new as it was completed in 1914. There is a lovely park attached with seating and statues, a peaceful place for reflection. It a gem in the city and the design is impressive. It's the oldest Catholic parish in Phoenix. It is accessed by steps from street level, inside it's... More

Over 100 years old - still used daily in downtown near Convention Center. Many excellent beautiful stained glass windows. Property staffed by OFM Franciscans. Daily Mass at Noon and schedule of Sunday Masses. Former site of School is refreshing and relaxing park next to Basilica.

Worth a quick stop here to see the stain glass windows and the gardens. Lovely shaded area in the gardens to rest. They are also well lit in the evening making them a nice visit and a cut through to get to the Ariizonia Center.

This church is filled with history and art from way back in time. It is not hard to imagine how people depended upon the missionaries in the old days.

A beautiful classic cathedral in the center of the city. Mass times are convenient for the traveler and the Franciscan spirit of priests makes everyone feel welcome...whatever your religion
