Uber From Cholloa and Hike Up Echo Canyon Then Down Cholloa

Camelback was probably my favorite hike I've done. It is a must do in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. We parked down the street from the Cholloa trail head and called an Uber to the Echo Canyon trail head. There is less parking on this side, plus with only one day to hike, we wanted to see both sides instead of an... More

This was one heck of a hike! An awesome workout with awesome views. I'm a little out of shape and survived, however it is a pretty tough hike. Kids were hiking this trail along with an 80 year old man, but don't let that fool you. Bring fluids and a camera. I wish I lived in Phoenix to hike this... More

Love the view when you get to the top. It is a bit challenging to get up there, but that's why it is a nice workout. Very busy because everyone hears about it and wants to check it out. You will not disappoint!

Climbing Camel Back Mtn on the Echo Canyon Trail was a very cool experience!! It is more of a climb than a hike but worth the effort. Go early in the day to beat the heat and the congested parking situation. Definitely bring enough water and expect to get a great workout!!!

Very convenient for folks staying in Scottsdale, plenty of parking and a public rest room. I brought my 13 year old daughters. There's a few beautiful vistas within the first 20 minutes. There's a low vertical "loop" for mild hikers to stay on. More adventurous hikers need to get past one tougher climb (there's some assistance rails).

I am in Phoenix a couple times a year and I hike Echo Canyon every morning. It's hard but so worth it. Bring some water and go at your own pace! You need to be prepared to use your whole body but it's amazing and I love it every time!

I have 9 yo and 11 yo sons who are very active. They said this was their favorite hike of all time! Mainly because of the challenging climb. I had forgotten how difficult this was! It took us 55 minutes to get the to top with 2 quick breaks. We went on a Friday in March at 11:30 and I... More

A very scenic hike, it is a moderate to hard hike and hiking this mountain in the summer is not recommended. I highly recommend you take plenty of water and snacks the scenery/views are amazing by far my favorite mountain to hike.

This trail is beautiful but not for the average hiker. The trail is very rocky and the incline is steep. We did not make it to the summit. It is also very crowded. You have to be careful of people who run up and down the trail, too. Rocks can be slippery so wear good shoes! Views are amazing and... More

Hiking Echo Canyon trail to the top of Camelback Mountain was a great time. I did this alone, but there were a lot of people around so I wasn't worried about something happening to me. You definitely want to wear hiking shoes because you will be going up steep rocks. Also bring water. I went there on a Friday in... More
