I went here with high expectations and I was a little disappointed. My family and I took the metro here and I'll be honest, I thought it was kind of scary! First, we explored the north side of the park. The grass was dying and it doesn't look like anyone really cares for the lawn which was kind of sad.... More

Hance Park is surrounded by activity. A new apartment complex is being built south of the Park and The Phoenix Library Branch is in the center of the park on the north side. Its perfect for concerts, a picnic when the weather is cooler or just a nice place to walk in the middle of downtown.

Close to the public library and walkable from downtown Phoenix. Great for the cooler months in Phoenix!

This is a great park for a music festival-type event. Wide open space, convenient location and the Japanese Friendship Garden is right near the park.

Was jumped in this park, but was able to hold on to camera and eventually they backed down when they realized they bit off more than they can chew. but there are predators here and no police. They like to corner people who think Japanese garden is open but is closed this time of year.

The park is in the under a freeway overpass infested with homeless people. When properly secured is good venue. We have attended many St. Patrick's Day Festivals there. The city has tried to renovate this park. Unfortunately it is very difficult due to the population there.

The park itself is beautiful but what's in it spoils it.Homeless dirty people, drunk and passed out Native Americans, pan handlers asking for money and not a cop in sight. You can also stand inside the huge Phoenix library and look out over the park. That would be the safest thing to do

It's a great expanse of grass over a freeway tunnel. There are some events held here, there's the Japnse Gardens, and a dog park. It is too often unsafe, inhabited by homeless and unpatrolled. Sometimes, mid day, at the end of a visit to the Barr Library, a picnic (Blue Fin) might be an attraction, but you might get Panhandled.

I been walking trough this park during the last month to get to my destination and I couldn't believe this is the park my friends talk about insanely all the time. I love the set up, location and adorable giant shiny panda! The lightrail will take you there ! The park is behind the library and a few walking minutes... More

Great park in the middle of the city! Make sure to check out The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix and Irish Cultural Center while there.
