My wife and I took a very nice day hike around a part of Watson Lake last month. A very beautiful lake with fantastic rock formations! We were amazed that this lake was so close to the city.

While it's not exactly an Adirondacks Lake, Watson Lake provides a reasonably ok place for a few hours' hike, or less. Rocks at one end are striking and trails vary in length. One trail circles the modest sized lake, but if you have less time...More

We did not walk around the lake, though there was a path available. Picnic areas with tables and a gazebo. We drove up by the gazebo and took photos of the interesting rock formations. We were lucky since there were no day fees on Wednesday.

Located immediately off the main drag, accessible to the retired residents and their RC sailboats- the only watercraft witnessed, although there is a launch. The water level was critically low, which I think contributed to the swarms of buzzing insects along the trail that we...More

Lovely views of the Granite dells. Worth the short drive out to see the lake and rocks. Hiking trails go around the lake.

Nice views and the rocky path is well marked. Almost no one was there. A boat launch is available. It looks ideal for canoeing or kayaking. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout. One could spend a few hours or most of a day here.

Very close to downtown Prescott. Huge boulders surround this lake. Some of the area is easy to climb on rocks. Very unique lake because of the formations.

The rock formations around the lake are famous for good reason. They are mesmerizing and surreal. Paddle around the lake to get myriad views and different perspectives. Bring a fishing rod, too.

Yes, you can bring chairs to hang around the lake on and there are plenty of rocks to sun on.

There is no swimming and motorized boats are not allowed. It is a beautiful lake, but there is radon in the area. I suggest you don't spend much time there. I love Watson Lake and the Dells and have taken many friends there... More
