My husband and I visited the park and couldn’t believe the collection of train memorabilia. The collection of model railroads and trains were very impressive. The playground and picnic areas were perfect for families. This park is a true gift to the people blessed to live in Scottsdale!

Wow! What a place and all free. The best for us was the model railroad building. It was phenomenal. There were so many outdoor activities for kids. If we had small grandkids nearby we would be there a lot.

This was more fun than expected. Started off in the large indoor model train display. This had 3 huge tracks run by local train enthusiasts. So many details to inspect. A few sections of the model were also interactive. Outside were some authentic train cars, Pullmans if I remember. There is also a museum located in an old train depot, one of many that were saved a brought to the park throughout the years. You can also ride on a small scale train. There is a huge playground for the kids. There is also a large sculpture dedicated Bill Keane the creator of Family Circus who lived in Scottsdale and had quite a connection to the community (Google Sugar Bowl & PF Changs).

This was a fun little excursion for the kids. The staff were super friendly and the mini train ride was longer than expected.

We loved our morning at the railroad park. I loved that there were plenty of benches to sit on to relax and enjoy being there. There was plenty of shade, too; which is always a big plus in our part of the country. The bathrooms were very clean and the grounds were also very clean. There is no entry fee and parking is also free.

The train ride we timed at just about 7 minutes and the merry go round was around 3 minutes. Tickets are very reasonable - especially if you purchase them in groups. Children 2 and under are free.

The museums are fun and interesting, too.

First - unless you ride the tiny trains, etc., it's free. The model RR room is engaging, especially the 'larger' scale layout (the two smaller ones don't photograph as well and are hard to see in detail). Lots of engaging detail. The little train depots buildings are interesting as a short stop as it the Pullman car for a walk through with the bonus of a conversational docent in the observation rear. Lots of families around enjoying the park and I'm sure great for the kids, but I was really there for the adult exhibits and it was a nice stop.

Such an enjoyable Park with lots of railway museum. I went there by myself. I feel lots of people would flock here when cooler weather.

Great museum. The train ride was cute, the whole place is just a hoot. How cool. Lots to see and do, and everyone was so friendly. The facility is also clean and well-kept. What a jewel. I wish our town had a museum like this.
