Great 3.5 mile roundtrip hike. Plenty of parking in the morning although the lot was pretty full by the time I finished. Well marked trail with decent elevation. Beautiful views of the surrounding area. Very fun and relaxed hike.

I read about Pinnacle Peak Park at one of the travel websites and decided to add to my travel itinerary. I definitely love the variety of cactus all over the park and the city view once you hit about .75-1 mile from the trailhead. The...More

This is a quick and relatively easy hike. We completed this with our children (ages 8-13) in 1:45, making the 1.75 mile (one-way) hike out and back.

This is an urban hike that gets very busy during weekends. It’s a great hike, with lots of wildlife and cactus plants along the way. However, if you visit during the weekend, you will not have a leisure hike as most people use this trail...More

For a first timer hiker, it was a great experience. I was very impressed in seeing how many people are really into hiking. Try it. You might like it. Highly recommended if you are in the Scottsdale, AZ area.

Do both. Each has magnificent scenery. From Pinnacle Peak, however, you'll get some more expansive views, not to mention some bird's eye views of gorgeous homes. In the Preserve you are closer to the desert.
