This is a great hike. Not so little as it has bit of elevation change but the views are worth the hike. I recommend going early in the day to avoid crowds. Nobody going up at 8:30am and 30 folks on way down..Some switchbacks. Take a pano photo at the top!

This is just an amazing hike, and this review is coming from a couple in their late 60's! Off Boynton Pass Rd., just outside Sedona, this hike is rated moderate, and is just over 6miles round trip. The cool thing is that you can go as far as you want (which is what we did) and as the terrain get's too steep or rough for you - turn around and head back. We hiked in about 2-1/2 miles and turned around, making for a 5 mile hike. SO beautiful. Bring plenty of water, as you'll want to stay hydrated. DO NOT be afraid to hike this trail. Again, go as far as you want, then simply turn around. (Well marked too!)

Everyone was very friendly and the tour guide was very charismatic and knowledgeable. The bus was more comfortable than I expected.

Staying at the Enchantment Resort allowed us to get into the trail right from the resort. The trail is mostly flat and fairly easy. We took a detour to find the popular Subway Cave. Many posts and videos can be found online to locate this cave. The hike itself is easy but entering the cave itself requires a steep climb or a narrow drive walk on the cliff above into the cave. Remember this areas are to be respected and untouched. Abide by the signs on the way there and enjoy this special place.

We stayed at Enchantment Resort and it really is an easy easy hike. Took maybe 30 mins max to get to the top and it was ohh so beautiful. A very easy walk I'm not sure I would even classify it as a hike. However during mid day it can get very hot so bring water.

We stayed at Sedona Real Inn and this trail was just up the road from the Inn. What a beautiful place. Somewhat of an easy hike. We did the trail at sunrise and it was spectacular. Would like to have traveled more of the trail but time didn't allow. Our dog loved it too!

I went alone and have little hiking experience. I went to the top of the red rock vista and it wasn't that difficult but so worth the view. The flute playing man that hands out heart shaped rocks was there and he is just amazing. Look out for him if you go. This was one of the most liberating things I did in Sedona. I recommend stepping out of your comfort zone.

We parked in the afternoon and were lucky to get a spot. Needed to use our weekly parking pass ($15 for the week or $5 per day). The area was well marked and a few trails to select from. The use of the metal cages with rocks to mark the trail is helpful, but as always watch your surrounding as you hike. We hiked to the top of Boyton Vista.

Waited till a weekday and arrived at 6:15am in order to get a parking spot in the lot. If you don’t, you have to park way up the street on the side of the road and deal with crowds. No thanks! Worth getting up early!
We took the cutoff to Subway and aside from on other family, had the run of the place for quite a while. The cutoff isn’t marked, other than a cleared area. Also someone has been pulling downed trees across
The path to discourage people from going up there. We had no trouble as we were using AllTrails, but others had missed the cutoff.
We then traveled the rest of the trail up into the canyon and it was shady & a respite from sunny desert hiking.
It was an easy 9m morning hike

Great trail. We took the side trail to Subway cave. Which was amazing. Really interesting to see the vegetation change a lot as the trail gains elevation.

Howdy. Does anyone know if the trail is accessible outside Enchantment Resort? I’ve hiked the trail before but we stayed in the resort so I don’t know if there is a trailhead for nonguests. Thank you.

The trail the goes along the side of Enchantments is the Boynton Canyon Trail. If you were looking for the Kachina area, it is called the Vista Trail which if off of the BCT. Park in the parking lot on the right just before Enchantments, take the Boynton Canyon trail which will ver off to the left after crossing a dry creek bed. About 5 minutes later the Vista trail will go off of BCT to the right. Be sure to have your water and always good to have a map or take a photo of one on your phone at the trail head map sign. Enjoy

Is there a fee for this trail?

If you go there during a national holiday, there is no fee to park. The same is true for any national park. However, the airport mesa parking fee will still be $3.00 no matter what day you go.

Well, it's winter, and the desert is extra cold. Layers are imperative!

How is the road getting there? Is it all paved and easy to park at the trail entrance?

As others have said, roads to the trail head are paved and totally accessible. We couldn't find parking in the car park at the trail head but parked on the roadside about 100m away from the car park turn off. The road is signposted where you can and cannot park on the side.

I have a group of 60 people. Do we need to make any specials arrangements to hike this trail? How long does it take and how difficult is the hike.

You would enjoy it, but it would be hard to get 60 people at the top to see it's incredible review.
I would like to go on the longer tour with myself and daughter but am concerned if the longer ride would be too much for a novice rider. We have both ridden before but only a few times.

Mountain biking most of the trails in Sedona are difficult, especially for a novice rider. If you are staying at Enchantment, I highly recommend inquiring about their hike and bike program. They have a wonderful biking guide by the name of George. He is very experienced and would be a great person to have guide you on a tour that meets your needs.
