For those of you that can easily hike 4-8 miles in a day on a relatively slow climb trail, the West Fork of Oak Creek should be high on your list if first and foremost you're visiting Sedona for a taste of its natural beauty, solitude, and one-of-a-kind biomes. There is literally nothing like it in the Sedona area once... More

We hiked in October or November 2016. Several low water creek passes, beautiful colors and reflections in the water for the photographers

This was the coldest of the hikes we did in Sedona but worth going. It was really fun because of the beautiful views (mostly in the first half of it) and that you had to figure out how to cross all the streams (there were 13+). In the winter, you absolutely need gaiters because you won't get across without walking... More

This hike is good for a hot summer day, as there was an abundance of shade and several small creek crossings. Mostly level, and very beautiful. Only negative- my 19 year old said it seemed too similar to hikes we can do at home (Pennsylvania), so not as much of that "quintessential Arizona" feel as other places.

We were told to make sure to try this hike. Glad we did. It is a short drive from Sedona - paid parking required. The hike was along the creek with fabulous views of the canyon walls. Make sure you go to the end - worth the effort

Did this hike first week of November, a couple of weeks earlier the colours would have been amazing. The hike was fun with the 13 river crossings and not physically challenging. The hike is mainly shaded so quite chilly so we decided to run the trail on our return. great hike for walkers and trail runners alike.

I've done this hike once during the winter and once during the fall. In my opinion only worth doing for the fall foliage, otherwise just an average hike, you can find much better in the area.

I have taken many groups of kids on this beautiful trail. Gorgeous views of the canyon and creek, old homestead ruins and a variety of plants. Can be icy during the winter!

I would HIGHLY recommend this trail, particularly on a hot day. Its shaded for a large portion which is refreshing. The stream crossings add some humor and delight to the walk. The views are beautiful. Don't skip this one.

West Fork continues to be one of my favorite hikes. The rock formations are gorgeous. When I first came here, it was summer. We found the trail cool and refreshing. My most recent trip was in December. The creek crossings were treacherous due to slippery rocks. We only crossed once and turned around at the second crossing. The creek, however,... More
