This was my favorite hike of the trip with absolutely beautiful views almost every step. The trail follows (and sometimes crosses) a creek through the canyon so it is a moderate hike that requires some balance on the rocks to get across. Very doable for...More

We really enjoyed this hike. It was very "well traveled" aka crowded, but we could see why. It's a really lovely hike, geared for all hiking skill levels from very young to old. The parking lot was crowded and we saw we would save a...More

We arrived at dawn on a frosty day to a partially frozen creek that got more frozen the higher we walked. Crossing the creek is tricky- you have to look for stepping stones and logs that may be uneven or partially submerged. Still, it's a...More

Our family of four (all adults) hiked West Fork trail on a Tuesday (January 2, 2018). We found a parking spot at 10:30 am (parking is $10). The trail had other hikers but it was not crowded. The trail is down in the canyon; there...More

I have done this trail a few times and find it an enjoyable hike although it is becoming very popular. Hiking boots helpful in crossings, but in summer water shoes might be better. Poles very helpful! If you are in the area definitely hit the...More

Did this hike in early January, (bundle up!) but great early morning sun in the canyon, better views with some leaves down. Some hints, easy trail but sandy surface makes time slower than other trails. Sturdy hiking boots that let you walk right into a...More

We hiked this on Dec 30 and it was soooo cold! We read that the park opened at 8am, so we arrived at 7:50am to find a sign that said they didn't open until 9am. Checking the govmt website said 9am. Yet, the attendant showed...More

This is an easy to moderate hike out and back along the west fork of the Oak Creek. Be prepared- waterproof shoes, as you will cross the creek 13 times. Stunning rock formations.
