This trail is tough. Okay, I'm >50 and was walking it solo...and somehow on the first rise I took a massive wrong turn that found me clinging up a steep creek bed that almost killed me.. But I do a lot of hiking. But it was a great and fun challenge. Take a lot of water (seriously, less than 4-5... More

The total length according to our step tracker was 5.86 miles round trip. The hike is pretty intense with a fair amount of scrambling. There are a couple of false summits. The views are absolutely incredible. So beautiful. We only had time for one hike in Sedona and we were really happy that we chose this one. It took us... More

Quite a steep hike but I think the views rival the Grand Canyon. It may sound crazy but I really thought it was amazing.

Great hike with a 2000 ft elevation gain! Use of all fours required in some places but nothing too crazy. Others were right when they say there are a couple places you think you've reached the top but you haven't. Just look around, if you see a peak higher than where you are currently, you're not there. Keep going up,... More

Challenging not only due to length, but also elevation. Some moderate scrambles toward the beginning, nothing that someone in decent shape and mobility can't handle. There is not much of a break in climbing, there are a few flat spots but you are pretty much stair-stepping your way up and down the mountain for 4+ hours. All that being said,... More

The views aren't the only thing taking your breath away! Plan on 5 hours and lots of water to make it to the top and work your way back down. Beyond amazing! Impossible to take a bad photo. The trail is quite technical and steep but the views are worth it just not for an inexperienced hiker. Wildflowers and cactus... More

If you are going to do 1 hike in Sedona ( and if you are pretty fit and reasonably brave) this is the one. The views were spectacular, and a bit different around each corner. We were fortunate to do this hike on a cooler day. The wind was brisk and the temperature constantly changing. At one point we were... More

A steep, exposed trail - the 1900'+ elevation gain over the 2.5 miles to the top net you expansive views. Start early to avoid the crowds and the heat.

Start early to avoid the heat. The trail is exposed almost throughout, so the sun will bake you. Make sure you have lots of water. Very Nice trail but tough.
