The Goodenough Mine is one of the twenty five producing silver mines in the Tombstone Mining District, which started the mining boom which resulted in the incorporation of the City of Tombstone. When you take the tour, you will be shown through the original 1879 workings by a knowledgeable guide, and learn all about nineteenth century hard rock silver mining. You'll see what the ore looked like, learn about how it was processed, see some beautiful rocks and minerals, and artifacts and structures that have been in place for 130 years. This is one of the mines owned by Ed Schieffelin, the founder of the town, part of the Tombstone Mill and Mining Company, which he founded as well. The Goodenough Mine Tour is the most authentic and unique attraction in the City of Tombstone, and you'll see the results of the hard work of the miners. It's an experience that you will enjoy.

Great trip out. Guides are very knowledgeable about how mines are structured and worked. This was a good choice for families and not a bad walk. Even ground and youngsters can handle the stairs out.

Worth the $15 each. We had a great time on this tour. Safety first for sure. You wear hard hats. I would recommend tennis shoes due to the walking. I had mine in the car so I could change back to my flip flops. Lol....More

The mine owner conducted our tour. He's knowledgeable about the many aspects of Tombstone's history, as well as its unique geology that made it a top silver producer in the late 1800's. Moderate walking on uneven ground, plus descending and ascending stairs in the mine....More

Nice and cool underground mine tour. The guide was very informative. Steep stairs to get into the mine and some steep inclines but not to bad for children or the elderly but not for people with walking issues also make sure to wear appropriate footwear.

Sure we do! We let people take their dogs on the tour every day. Dogs love it down there, it's nice and cool and no gunfire from reenactments to scare them or stagecoach horses for them to bark at. Generally, the dogs just... More
