A good place to visit to learn about the old west and gold mining. Call to make sure that the tour is running that day. Tour stops during the summer time for the hot weather.

Our group of sol and single travelers really enjoyed the informative and unique commentary by a very entertaining and knowledgeable guide. Both young and old should not miss this tour. Easy walking but sun protection is a must.

Seriously, it is only open on Saturday's at 9:30 am and the gates close again at 10:00 am. It would be nice if it is an "attraction" to be open more. Wasted time & effort.

I'll admit to being fascinated by ghosts (and, I suspect, the Special Effects techs) on TV shows. I have had some experiences that I can't explain and don't really want to. But as I toured this ghost town on the way to the long closed Vulture Gold Mine I was drawn to the old building where gold and silver had... More

You can only tour this place at 9am on Sat. We did not get into town until mid afternoon so no tour for us. Easy to find and looked cool from outside looking in.

Two hours of pure treat! With historical reference, passion and first-hand working knowledge of the mine, our tour guide Norman made history come alive with stories about Wells Fargo hold ups and thieves buried on the grounds, how the man cars were used, pointing out the identifying tag on the rusted 1938 Hudson automobile, the treatment of dead cacti, use... This Vulture Mine - what is left of the old - is awesome and a real treasure. But hurry to see it as it is truly falling down. Norm Chipps was our tour leader and you will be lucky if he is yours. He possesses a wealth of knowledge and he has collected a ton of information over several years... More

I've been several times to the mine and each time I see more stuff than I had before. It is an interesting place to take photos. I would recommend the cooler months as the land is still pretty wild. It is interesting to visit if you like to learn about history and see how things were 'way back when'. The... More

The mine itself is closed but the area can be viewed and the old pit and surrounding equipment and location of one of the biggest, most profitable gold mines of 100 years ago is well worth taking a look at. The imagination can run wild and it's easy to imagine the mine in operation. Wickenburg was the mining town that... More

Old dreams and old souvenirs, that's what the Vulture Mine visit reminded me of... The new owner welcomed the fifty some group that were there for the unique visit on Saturday at 8:30 AM. The sun was out and bright, the temperature perfect! Visitors have to sign a responsibility disclaimer, a waist of time..., and get a rose plastic band... More
