We hiked the Bill Williams Mountain Trail 21 to the overlook. It was about 8 miles round trip, with a 2200 foot elevation gain. We were fortunate to do the hike on a cool, clear day. It had rained two days before, but the trail was not muddy (and not dusty either). There were quite a few downed trees that... More

Very scenic and cool area. Lots of green and views all around. Nice place to get away from the heat.

We had done some reading that helped us decide to make this drive. It was not what we expected and was really not worth the effort. It was hard to find the road leading to the trail from Williams. It had more than one name and we were not sure where we were. We stayed on the paved roads and... More

A peak I'm glad I finally bagged. I'd wanted to hike the Bill Williams Trail to the summit for several years, but just kept hiking trails near Flagstaff instead. I finally decided to bag three peaks in N. Arizona during my summer vacation, especially since I'm not getting any younger and who knows what the future may hold? Bill Williams... More

When we stopped at Williams, Arizona for the night, we just wanted a place to sleep before driving up to the Grand Canyon the next day. Little did we know we were in the last place to be bypassed by Route 66 and the town named after a famous local Mountain Man - Bill Williams. Surrounded with history.

Read about this in Williams magazine and thought we would try it. We had a rental car, Chevy Trax. It was terrible. The road was dusty and nArrow. Eventually got to the top. Nowhere to park, no pullin. Great stones on the road and workmen parked their vehicles While working on the satellite dishes at the top! My husband has... More

This will take a good car to drive all the way up to the top of this mt. I hope u have a good car, too. It is a gorgeous view, and one can really see all around--all over---a good lookout. They use this as a fire lookout, i believe

A long drive, and you need a 4x4 to get there, but tts worth it. The view is incredible. WE were invited up into the watch tower, and from there you have a panoramic view of the whole area. If your really fit you can hike up from the ranger station in Williams. We tried but did not make it,... More

Loved the drive! We took the route up Bill Williams Mountain and then continued on Bill Williams Mountain Loop. The scenery was amazing! We would have liked to stay on top of the mountain a little longer, but a storm was rolling in. They seem to roll in mid afternoon, during monsoon season. The loop takes you through the forested...
