Nothing wrong with any of the food, but it was more toward the ordinary than most of the places we dined during our trip. Don't think of this as a bad review, it just isn't as good as some I've posted. If you're visiting Vogelsang (probably a good idea) this is a place to refresh yourself while admiring the fine... Very little to do here. Quite boring for all. Had an overpriced mediocre lunch as well. Would not recommend.

This was a strange experience. On the one side the landscape is beautiful and you have the impression of reliving that period. On the other side the atmosphere is joyless and bleak as its buildings. This place looks more suitable as a lunatic asylum as an education center for an elite.

It is a place steeped in national socialist history, I was stationed here on a Nato exercise in 1975 at that time run by the Belgian army. It is now a museum piece and has been developed that way to ensure a part of German history is never repeated. I think what has been attempted here is brilliant. The educational... More

A rare look into the Nazi past. This was a camp for elite young students. They were trained to be the Nazi leaders. Sports, manliness, hygiene, rough life were taught. See it and believe it. Evidence of history. This really happened. Most impressive is the giant torch - about 50 meters high, when filled with kerosene, the light could be... More

We combined our visit to the area of Burg Vogelsang with a very nice walk and visit to Wollseifen. We parked our car at the free car park at the beginning of the lane leading to Vogelsang. A perfect starting point if you want to complete a tour but a bit too far if you just want to visit Vogelsang.... More

Drove with my family to see this sight, was quite disappointed & left wondering what we missed. I had read the reviews first & called ahead to book a tour in English but was told it would cost 100 Euro. We decided to walk around & look ourselves but found many areas closed or inaccessible without a guide & LOTS... More

Visiting this place drives home the point that totalitarian governments spare nothing to indoctrinate the people and to stay in power. The complex is huge and is one of the largest architectural relics of National Socialism (more than 12 acres of buildings). Quite worth a visit. We reached the place by public transportation from Einruhr on the lake and then... More

This ex-Nazi training camp has been converted into a base to explore the stunning area of the Ardennes. Sadly it seems not to be fully operational and I am sure there is scope and potential for this to be a brilliant attraction. Sadly at the moment it is just bleak and cold.
