Rain kept us from exploring this area during our short trip but looked promising for some short hikes in the future if we return to area.

We hiked all the way around the lake and it was beautiful. The dam was in disrepair, but I believe that will be repaired soon. I would like to return and enjoy camping as well. The trail maps are accurate and informative.

We stopped to hike. The trails were quite rough and rutted up. Recent rain also made the area quite wet. It was 70 degrees when we hiked, I wouldn't want it to be any hotter as there wasn't much airflow until we got to the dam. It was a nice hike and we did enjoy it. I wouldn't take small... More

My husband and I went to Lake Leatherwood twice during our stay in Eureka Springs. Honestly, we ended up there because it was easy to find and we wanted to do a little hiking. We loved it! We hiked the 4 mile Beacham Trail around the lake. It was a great hike! We then came back the next morning to... More

I love the hiking trails around Leatherwood lake. There are several to choose from, and one that goes out to the dam along the banks of the lake. You can also rent some kayaks or canoes from the little rental cabin. I brought my hammock and strung it up after a beautiful hike. This is a great spot to just... More

Had a great little hiking adventure at Lake Leatherwood in December. Lovely scenery with interesting rock ledges. We went on a drizzly day so there weren't a lot of other people there. A pro is that it is a city park so there is no entrance fee (although we did leave a donation on our way out). Got a little... More

We hiked the trails at Lake Leatherwood. They were okay, but not very impressive. The trails and maps were not very clear. We took 3 trails, and none had great views as compared to many others in the region.

Our family loves to visit Lake Leatherwood. It is so peaceful and beautiful there. We always rent the paddle boats and the kids just love it. It's so quiet and peaceful. There are trails that you can hike on, boats to rent, and fishing. Just a great place to enjoy nature.

Check out the fabulous new playground that recently opened near the cabins on Lake Leatherwood. Just a few minutes west of town on Hwy 62, at the Lake Leatherwood bridge. Exit to the north and follow pavement to the cabins/lake.
