This waterfall is impressive. While you are there, walk 1km upstream to see the other waterfall Selfoss

This was an impressive site to view the waterfall! We were on a bit of a waterfall chase whilst in Iceland and this was one of the best. Top tip is to wear good walking boots and proper waterproofs to keep dry. Then get off the viewing platforms and on to the walking trails around the falls to avoid the... More

One of the more impressive falls by volume in Iceland but far from my favorite. Snow in April made the hike a bit tougher but still no problem accessing the falls. Construction is underway on a new viewing platform but all trails were open. The hike towards Selfoss is worth the extra time. Allow a good hour and a half... More

Pretty close to Myvatn, with great views and many rainbows across it. Definitely worth visiting even if a little off the beaten track

It's a bit of a walk to get to the falls themselves (it was a bit longer for us because there were a few inches of slushy snow that necessitated a detoured path), but the walk was well worth it! Lots of rocks along the edge to take some spectacular selfies (just be careful)! However, while the falls were gorgeous,... More

Don't let the modest detour from ring road sway you from making the 58km round trip. The road is easy, paves driving and from the carpark it's only around 1500m to the first main lookout onto these amazing falls. We thought Gullfoss was our favourite, but these falls give stiff competition. 40m high, but 100m wide - massive water flow... More

Nice view when you reach it. During cold season it might be too difficult to reach. Roads might be closed and the path to the foss could be too hard for some people. Go after the cold season, it is easier.

Beautiful waterfalls and easy drive on what seems to be a newly paved road. The wind along with the rain/snow mix made for a challenging walk and even harder viewing, but it was still worth it. It was beautiful and has a rather impressive amount of water flowing over it. If the weather was better, I would have trekked down... More

Waterfall can accessed from west and east. We only did the west side easily accessible via gravel road. Has public toilets. You'll can walk around quite a bit. Great. Btw: this place has a "no drone sign"
