Where else in the world can you snorkel between tectonic plates in pure glacial water? Nowhere! Well organised with friendly guides, good quality kit which works well to keep you warm (only your fingers and lips really get wet/cold) and hot chocolate for afterwards. Yes, it's expensive but thoroughly worth it in my opinion. It's no barrier reef- we saw... More

Amazing that you can float in water with a temperature of 2 degrees. The drysuit keeps you warm. We received good instructions and ultimetly it was less scary than we initially thought. Amazing clear waters looking 30m down

I was a bit weary of snorkeling due to the cold, only previously snorkeling in Hawaii. All the fears were an after thought immediately meeting their crew. Fee (pronounced Fey) was super friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable with the gear and the history. Frasier is also very helpful with gear, that guy looks like special forces in his dive suit. Wearing... More

We can only praise the dive.is team! We were about 20 minutes away from Thingvellir and had to turn back because the road was closed. We called them and Monika was so kind and helpful on changing us to the last snorkeling group pf the day! Then when we got there and everyone was amazing, specially our guide Eleonora. She... More

Booked a snorkelling tour at Silfra with DIVE IS and this was one of the highlights of our Iceland trip. Upon reaching the meeting point, we were greeted by the friendly guides. After everyone of the tour arrived, we were split into different groups and have a guide tagged to each group. My girlfriend and I was assigned to one... More

I traveled with my 16 year old daughter. This adventure was her idea and I was a bit reluctant (snorkeling in cold water??). This was one of the highlights of our trip. The guides were friendly and so helpful. The snorkeling experience was beautiful. I would highly recommend.

We went snorkeling with "Scuba" Steve from dive IS. He was upbeat and helpful as we pulled our gear on and prepared on a chilly and rainy day. He was entertaining throughout the experience and gave extra guidance when needed for first time snorkelers. Even if the sun wasn't out, the colors in the water were amazing and the water... More

This is our sixth day in Iceland, and so far we've loved everything here so far. We were really excited to go snorkeling between the tectonic plates, especially after reading all these raving reviews beforehand. Unfortunately, we were pretty disappointed. We did it at 8:30am, and it was still pretty cold. I would recommend doing it later in the day... More

My friend and I booked the snorkelling trip as we wanted to try something a little different when travelling around Iceland and it did not disappoint. We drove to Thingvellir ourselves and met the guides at the tour centre (the only centre in the area so not difficult to find!) as this was much cheaper and gave a lot more... More

My family and I did a snorkelling tour of the Silfra Fissure. It was an amazing experience (albeit a bit chilly - wear three pairs of socks if you can!). The water was so clear and the view under the water was absolutely beautiful, especially in the deeper areas. Our guide, Ants, was fantastic - he gave us lots of... More
