We weren't here for long because our coach didn't stop long in Killybegs but so much to see in this museum. Staff extremely friendly and so knowledgeable. Very informative video. Lots to see in the carpet factory. Lots of information on the local fishing industry.

The tourist information office recommended a visit here and we are glad we went. It is only a small museum but well presented. There is a small charge but this is worthwhile because you get to see a film of the carpet making - we...More

We visited here and found the carpet making process interesting. We were shown how the carpets were made and told the history of the carpet factory.

Killybegs is the largest fishing port in Ireland and there is a small exhibition of the history and types of fishing carried out from here together with a navigation simulator of the harbour. But the main point of interest is the hand knotting carpet factory....More

Lovely little museum with friendly and helpful staff. Very entertaining (perhaps not intentionally so) film presentation, made in the 1970s, about the hand knotted carpet industry, which seems to be a dying, if not dead, trade. Strangely the museum also included a simulator which for...More
