Swords Castle is being restored to its former glory but still has a long way to go. There are some narrow stairways that are accessible and the stained glass windows are lovely. Entry is free.

This is a local tourist attraction that must be visited before 5:00 p.m. The castle is still under renovation, but a great stop while in Dublin or just prior to airport departure.

Stepping through the walls with a coffee very relaxing spot. Weekdays preferred as quieter, like a small old fashioned escape among a busy town.

We were just staying in Swaords before catching a plane at the airport and found this actually was a very interesting place. The castle is in the process of being restored and was very good find. I would recomend it!
