Welcome to our TripAdvisor page. I am Oliver Walsh and for the past 15 years I have welcomed visitors from all over the world to Flowerhill Equestrian Centre in Co Galway, Ireland. Visitors come for the hospitality, willing and fit horses, extensive cross country horseback riding facilities and relaxed and happy atmosphere. Flowerhill is based in 250 acres of beautiful east Galway country side. We are surrounded by the best possible cross country horse riding land - green fields, woods, the Kilcrow river, and wonderful wildlife. You can gallop across open fields, swim through the lake and splash in the Kilcrow river, scaring away the fish as you go. Our fences are a mixture of natural logs, stone walls, ditches and a variety of man made obstacles, including giant bananas! Most of the 150 fences include 2 or more options, so whether you are a nervous novice or confident competitor, we will cater for your needs. The riding standard varies from novice cross sountry, through intermediate, right up to advanced open. All riders need to be confident at walk trot and canter, therefore Flowerhil is not for the absolute beginner.Ride with us by the hour, a full day of 2 or 3 rides per day, or stay with us and chill out for a week or more. Rides usually go out daily at 10.00am and 1.30pm, and we change the rides to suit our customers needs. Horse riding variations include show jumping and dressage tuition, cross country workshops, exercising the hounds and hacking down to the local pub, where there are stabling facilities while we enjoy a pint and toasted sandwich. Private cross country or show jumping clinics for an individual rider can also be arranged. Over the years many of customers return again and again to enjoy the fun.

Second trip to Flowerhill in two months from Australia and absolutely love it! The horses and staff amazing, without a doubt the best equestrian experience I have had anywhere in the world... Can't wait to go back Thanks to the entire team again at Flowerhill!

We go back 2-3 times a year, my daughter LOVES all the fun ponies and horses there (especially Milly) and it is hard to get her to leave even between rides. It's best if you're experienced with horses; but if your not, or if you have young children, there is a great Pony Camp that's fun for all ages and... More

My sisters, niece and I bought our horses to flowerhill ec. We joined a group on the Saturday and the horses spent the night. Then on Sunday we rode out on our own. I highly recommend it. There was loads of all weather jumping lanes, and everyone there was very nice. Thank you!

I simply loved it. Did one day of cross-country training locally at Flowerhill and one day of traditional Irish drag hunting in another village, also including some cross-country jumping. The horses I rode were gentle and sporty and excellent jumpers, Oliver and his staff were really nice and helpful to me and also good teachers and the area is also... More

I recently spent a week at Flowerhill Equestrian in Ireland. What an amazing experience. The horses are terrific; same goes for Oliver and his staff. The countryside is beautiful and there is nothing like Irish hospitality and a good pub at the end of a long day in the saddle. I went to Flowerhill with zero x-country experience and was... More

Oliver and all those at Flowerhill Equestrian allowed me to complete three bucket list items: ride with the hounds, ride to the pub for a guinness, and jump amazing natural objects. This place is a true gem, absolutely worth the visit. Best for intermediate to advanced riders, but beginners would also enjoy this and learn a lot. The horses are... More

I have been re miss in writing this review. Our granddaughter, 8 year old, who was in Ireland for the summer took riding lessons once per week plus a camp with Kim at Flowerhill. I can not write enough fabulous things about her experience. Before she even started it was made clear what equipment was needed. Kim would assess her... More

A small group of us who ride together regularly came here for the weekend. I can’t believe I haven’t been there before and am madly trying to find time to go again ASAP. We are all experienced riders, working towards various stage 3/4 with BHS. A weekend cross-country jumping with Oliver and his team has left us with visions of... More

We had the opportunity to ride with a true Huntsman today at Flowerhill Equestrian. Gracious to his horses and fellow riders. It's all about teaching with Oliver... Teaching the moment and living the moment, without bias or judgement. A true horseman. What a pleasure!
