Very nice views while walking. Make sure you have wellies if it was raining the night before. The path gets very mucky.

Above the town of Ardmore there is a 'Cliff Walk' that starts out near the Cliff Hotel. Near the start of that trail are the ruins of St. Declan's Church and Holy Well, dating from the 5th century, the highlight of the walk for me....More

We visited at dusk. It is a hike to get to the site, but worth it. A beautiful and moving place to visit. I did have it all to myself, which made it particularly lovely.

Part of the cliff walk and history of the area. This is near the beginning of the walk so easy to find.

Passed through Declan's Well on the circular route of St Declan's Walk around Ardmore. Interesting to read the history of the place on placards nearby. It's a pretty site with good views out to sae to the SE.

Do not expect too much but take a walk round the cliff path and enjoy the nice view! There is a written description of what to see available at the tourist office.

The Cliff Walk is a must and well worth the effort. The various historical remains provide a fascinating insight into the history of Ardmore throughout the ages coupled with some of the best and most spectacular views we have enjoyed during our years in Ireland.

This is just a very short walk from the Cliff House Hotel and might well be a great destination if you find it difficult to walk even medium distances. While it might look just like any old ruin, it has a tremendous history going back...More

Just a short walk from the Cliff House Hotel and after an excellent lunch I needed some exercise and fresh air. 100 yards along the cliff path away from the hotel lies a fascinating place of peace. The well is probably missed by the more...More

The well itself is in a small, flattened area at the very beginning of the cliffs that tower over the village and spread out in a horseshoe shape away from the main bay. It was thought that this area was somewhere that... More
