I set out on my bike because I wanted to find out exactly how much of the Greenway had been completed along the canal to the west of Maynooth where I live. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to cycle to Mullingar almost totally...More

Much more interesting than the greenway for the amateur cyclist who isn't going far. Good stops after about 10km. Just be wary of narrow gravel paths in places of thinking of going with chikdren under 8ish.

Great quality cycle route along the canal. Could do with some coffee stops though. Lovely easy ride for all the family as it is nice and level.

Walked from Leixlip to Maynooth along this scenic and historic trail. Good for walking and mountain biking. Trail is being gravel led and widened. Well maintained.

I've been a regular walker on this path - usually from Drumcondra to Ashtown and back. So close to city but so quiet. Always meet friendly people and get to see the swans, herons, other birds. Also a family of otters once. Well recommended for...More
