I walked up the hill to this nice little church. Beautiful altar and view but not much else. Worth the walk.

a attractive little church, dating back to the 1800's unfortunately it was closed on my visit so could not go inside, but a great looking church which has a great view looking over loen and the fjords

The church is nice to see and I suggest the visit if you are in this small town, because there is not much more you can do. And I like to see churches.

Lovely place, in the top of the hill. Typical norwegian church with the cementery, nice view of the fjord and the mountains around. Picture deserved !!

I am so glad we took a walk to this beautiful church! The view and history are worth the visit. A very peaceful place in a beautiful town in Norway.

We only passed it en route for the glacier - it looked interesting, but couldn't stop as we were on a coach.

Loen church is located in the center of Loen with a great view to the village and lake. It is in walking distance from the village hotels and easy to reach. The small road near hotel Loenfjord which seems to lead only to farm houses is the quickest way but you can also approach from the other way.

I was very glad to notice, down from the village, that the church door was open very late in the evening, after 9 PM and many of the hotel guests went to see this lovely church with a spectacular evening view and beautiful cemetery. This wooden church is built in 1837 but there has previously been a stave church. There is a thousand-year Celtic stone cross by the church, one of the oldest Christian monuments in Norway. There is also a memorial of the victims killed in 2 similar catastrophes in 1905 and 1936.

Church is octagonal and one of the best preserved churches of its kind in Norway. There are seats for 190 persons. Really worth the visit even though the door would be shut.
