This was excellent. There is not a lot in Antequerra so once you've done this there's not much else. Typical tourist town shops. Not very friendly people

Hired a car at Malaga airport (pre-booked from the UK). Anteqera is about 75 minutes drive from Fuengirola. The citadel (Alcazabar) is at the upper end of the town. (It's best to park in the underground car park at the entrance to the town). Audio-guide...More

Worth the trek up the hill, full of great history, breathtaking views, and fabulous smells from the surrounding gardens and trees. Even the audio guide (included in the <€5 price) was done really well, and the refreshments fairly priced. Highly recommend it, and a refreshing...More

Stunning views make the walk up the hill to this castle worth the heat and effort. An audio history is available and sets the stage by recreating the past through dramatic conversations and explanations. Normally, I wouldn't want to be listening to an audio device,...More

Really during the day yes it looks nice, but at the end of the day a gate is a gate. What is really nice is to go at night to the walkway above the gate. One can see Antequera all lit up absolutely breathtaking

If you are in antequerra or drive by to visit El torcal be sure to take 10/15 to see this site. But it is not worth a trip alone.

Lovely situation top of a hill with spectacular views over the countryside. Great ruins of a medieval fort in moorish origins - great audio guide available and quite cheaply- obviously not as well trodden as Alcazaba in Grenada nonetheless delighted we stopped on way from...More

I loved the way you can see all the religious and cultural influences on Andalucia in this one (huge) building. We spent 3 hours here. Entrance 6 euros (includes admission to the church next door) as well as an audio guide in English.Lots of steps...More
