With a volume of more than 100,000 m3 and a surface covering 9,371 m2, the Tourist galleries represent approximately one-third of the cave. The cave has been used as a habitat, a burial site and for cultural expression. There are remnants testifying to the passage of hunters, gatherers and fishermen from more than 30,000 years ago. The General Visit starts with the screening of a audiovisual presentation in which you will be able to see spectacular details of the cave (10 minutes). Then an audio-guided visit through the different chambers of the Cave, in a pleasant walk of about 45 minutes where you will discover the many secrets the grotto keeps (audio-guided in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Russian). When the cave closes its doors, a small group of privileged people can enter the mystery of the underworld to enjoy the magnificence and beauty of the cave, and discover its secrets. You can choose between three modalities of Exclusive Tours

I have visited lots of caves around the world but these were among the best. Although we visited in January, they are not cold so you don't have to wrap up warm. The visit is guided and you get all the information you need through a headset. - and the caves are stunning. You can also climb the "mountain" above... More

The caves of Nerja are simply stunning. A very well run operation at a cost of 10€ per person. Groups are assigned a time slot to enter the caves, there is a brief presentation before the actual tour to give you the history of how the caves were discovered. It takes no longer than 90 minutes to complete.

I live in the US state of New Mexico, home of one of the underground crown jewels of the USA National Park system, Carlsbad Caverns. I have visited the Caverns several times over almost 60 years, so any other caves I tour I unconsciously compare to the Caverns. So I did not have really high expectations when I stepped into... The caves have been staged to ensure an enjoyable visit. Every nationality is catered for with personal headphones...not much good if you are deaf! It is great to see such an incredible asset being funded in this way.

We walked from Burriana beach to Maro, and approached the caves via the motorway bridge and the path above and through the Botanical Gardens. This walk in itself was thoroughly enjoyable, and the recently planted gardens showed promise. The caves are a wonderful sight to see, and the restaurant and gift shop provide good dining and souvenir opportunities. The walks... More

The caves have been developed well over time. All the usual facilities restaurants gift shops gardens. Views from the restaurant are very nice. The caves are quite amazing and the access is good. Yes in the world there are better caves but but too pass a 2-3 hours very enjoyable.

An hour in these caves brings you into a different world. I have seen several caves in Europe but these are the most beautiful. Good guided tours with speaker device around the neck.

You just don't know what is beneath us. Just 4km from Nerja centre, great value to see the beauty of the Caves.
