Enjoy great days out at the seaside with the five star Scottish Seabird Centre, North Berwick.

In the Discovery Centre control the interactive live cameras to zoom in on the amazing local wildlife on the Firth of Forth islands including puffins, gannets and seals. The Bass Rock is the world’s largest Northern gannet colony and BBC Countryfile Magazine’s Nature Reserve of the Year and the Isle of May is the biggest puffin colony on the east coast of Britain.

There’s different wildlife to see throughout the year and at different stages of the breeding season.

Visitors can enjoy expert talks, 3D TV, fish tanks, Flyway Tunnel, Wildlife Theatre, Turtle and Ray Zone and a Scope Deck. There is also a Gift Shop, the Seabird Cafe which has East Lothian’s only seaside sundeck, plus a range of seasonal boat trips.

The Scottish Seabird Centre is open all year – only closed on Christmas Day.

My wife booked us a surprise speed boat trip out to Bass Rock, I was a bit apprehensive when I turned up and realised that I had to don all the waterproof gear, and it was a dingy style speed boat. I shouldn't have worried at all. The experience was amazing, and Caroline was a great guide, very passionate about... More

Visited as a family of five plus a well behaved dog on Easter Sunday. The one hour trip was £20 per adult which appeared to be quite expensive at first. However, the boat once aboard was clean with covered seating (Perspex roof) and also open air seating. There were approximately 50 passengers aboard. The trip turned out to be well... More

Spent a couple of hours at the different cameras. Saw puffins, gannets, and many more. Very educational. Learnt much about dolphins and whales-thanks Scott! Very knowledgeable staff. Great for kids. Amazing setting. Walk along beach toward Bass Rock and along the coastal path for more viewing opportunities of oyster catchers.

My husband and I do quite a bit of bird watching, and it was interesting to see some pictures on the cameras of gannets, but I missed the thrill of seeing birds out in the open, even though the pictures are live from the islands a short way out to sea. There were lots of interactive displays which are good... More

Seeing the video links to life on the Bass Rock is worth watching as seal cubs interact with the mother seal and the seabird life is fantastic. The staff very knowledgable and helpful.
