Enjoyable walk along Monmouth beach (pebbles and rocks, so advise walking boots to support ankles). Super plate sized ammonites to view. 12 - 44 enjoyed it!

We were disappointed to find it so difficult to walk on. As one of the few beach areas where dogs are allowed in August, we walked to find it. Our dog was quickly distressed and we had to come away.

Look for fossils and enjoy a stroll or just sit and watch the sunset. Full of atmosphere and lovely place to relax.

Great to walk along and search for fossils and enjoy the views out to sea. Not too busy either on a sunny Sunday in August.

Most of the beach is very pebbly but there is a very large man-made area covered with soft sand - exceptionally clean.

Stony beach to walk along under the grey cliffs that tell a story millions of years old. Walk over ammonite pavements 190 million years old, every step you see another ammonite without the need for a hammer. Also search through rocks n pebbles for your...More

Well worth the short walk to see the large ammonites embedded in the rock. You'll need to wear sensible shoes as the beach gets a bit rocky in places.

Difficult to walk on because of such big pebbles, but the only dog friendly beach we could find in season, the dogs enjoyed their swim though!
