Went fossil hunting on Beach Head with Paddy and Tom. This absorbed over 4 hours of our time, 2 adults an 11 and 9 year old, and we all walked home delighted. The guides are ever patient with the most daft of questions and endless requests to verify finds. They also help you know where to look, what to look... More

I took the guided 3 hours fossil hunting tour out of the Museum with Paddy Howe and his offsiders. We met the renowned paleontologist Paddy Howe outside the Museum and as we walked down to the sea I got he opportunity to discuss his big discovery with him (the head of an icthyosaurus just lying on the beach after heavy... Despite the cold gloomy weather we had a great time on this nearly three hour fossil hunting wander along Lyme Regis beach. Our guides were hugely knowledgeable, fun and very approachable. We came back with a small stash of fossils which we are very proud of.

Brilliant fun! Paddy was excellent! So knowledgable, funny and approachable. Found so many fossils including an ammonite and an ichthyosaurs vertebrae! Good talk at the start of what we might kind and what to look out for, and anything we found we could check with him what it was. Would recommend 100 times!

A great couple of hours spent getting used to hunting for fossils. Family outing included two boys ( 10 & 12). Started off with a 20 minute briefing in the centre by one of the guides and then off we went. We found belamnites and a small ammonite and it was great fun. Suitable for kids of all ages and... we took our grandson on a hunt on Saturday with Paddy Howe. Despite being really cold the whole experience was fantastic. Paddy was very patient and explained everything so well. We all found loads of fossils and thanks to Paddy we learnt all about each one ….a brilliant day. Our grandson had ‘the best birthday EVER’ ….his words…………….. and on... More

Just did the fossil walk with Paddy and it was superb. We did wonder how we would fill 3hrs and had our early escape all planned (dogs are tired and so we need to return early..) However, it was such an interesting and enjoyable morning we over ran by half an hour. As long as it's dry you should be... More

Very good but a lot of people destroying the rocks and pulling stuff out of cliffs. Better just to look and see what you can find. #beachcombing

Really enjoyed the fossil walk we took with Chris and Paddy. They were fun and very informative, knowledgeable and friendly. The older lady in the Museum was not very friendly however, and seemed very flustered and short with me for asking where the bathrooms were located.

Very informative. Well worth doing before you set off on your own so that ypu know what you're looking for. Check the weather before you go as there is no shade or shelter on the beach. Sensible shoes are a must too.
