Easy visit after Avebury on bank holiday weekend. Harry Potter fans so we enjoyed the filming locations here. Easily walked from the car park which doesn’t accept credit cards in the machine so bring £4 in coin.

My boyfriend and I are both photographers and visited this museum on our way through to the actual abbey. A nicely put together display with interesting items and not too much information to overwhelm you. There is also a decent sized exhibition space upstairs where...More

We didn't actually tour the museum as we were on an organized tour of Devon & Cornwall and our time here was limited. However, if time permitted, I would have loved to tour this museum where Talbot created the world's first photographic negative in 1835....More

Most interesting museum, very informative and we learnt a lot about the discovery of photography. The graphic displays were well laid out.

Fox Talbot museum part of the Lacock Abbey and gardens experience, with the full history of the camera as a permanent exhibition. Upstairs there are changeable exhibits throughout the year. Very interesting, good shop, no toilets or food outlet on site.

Unique place whether you are into photography being as it is the birthplace of modern photography or film locations - my only gripe was the fact there are cars everywhere in the village - it would be so much better if residents had to park...More

Visited the Abbey, Fox Talbot Museum and village today. The Abbey is stunning, and the museum very interesting. Even in the rain the village is pretty.

This museum charts the fascinating history of photography and the pioneering Henry Fox-Talbot who invented the negative. Although small, the exhibition is packed with interesting information and artefacts and makes for an enjoyable and educational visit.
