I stayed near Inverpolly last week (mid November 2016) and visited the area walking the hills. It is a truly unique spot in the highlands with Golden Eagles, stags and hinds and plenty of wildlife. The light is brilliant up there and very clear. Local pubs are welcoming and food is good and not too touristy. Being on the coast... More

If you're looking for something completely different nearby Ullapool: go to the Inverpolly Nature Reserve. A rare combination of space and mountains. You only know what I mean by going there, it's really stunning!

This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and has it all... Wild and rugged mountains, fast flowing streams and rivers, good hill walking and climbing and lovely sandy beaches. On a sunny day there is so much to offer. I have been here on many occasions in the past and I am constantly drawn back to be surprised by... More

Don't go here if you want to be molly coddled. This is a proper piece of wild country and is not suitable for people who want 'visitor attraction' style facilities. Do visit here if you want to see a truly gob smacking place that will take your breath away.
