Oldest military blockhouse built in 1750. Family may walk the historic grounds with great river view from the hilltop high above Nova Scotia’s historic Minas Basin. Blockhouse is size for the time period in history. Nice place to take a break in Windsor area.

This is an old wooden block house that was used to defend the local area. It’s a very small installation but it does have some significance. It is currently the oldest one Canada. Worth in to take a look but you’re not gonna spend much time here.

It is the oldest blockhouse in Canada and one of the oldest wooden buildings in the Province of Nova Scotia. It is located on a little hill and you can see for miles up and down the area. Well worth the visit

After a long day exploring we expected only to be able to walk around the outside of this Fort. However, there was a film company there and whilst they were setting up we were able to get into this Blockhouse. It is the oldest blockhouse in Canada and one of the oldest wooden buildings in Nova Scotia. Information boards are dotted around the remains of the Fort grounds which give its history.

Good views from the fort. It is grassed over mainly with a block house in the centre. Pleasant student guide there. No entrance fee.

Beautiful views as you walk around the site which is well signed. The young gentleman from Canada Parks was very friendly and knowledgeable about the site.

Not much there other than a few boards telling the story. The blockhouse is all closed up and in need of repair. Also some of the pathways are just grass and soaking wet in the morning at this time of the year.

Free admission to a historical building. Stopped on our way to the Grand-Pré. Interesting to see how both of these collided.

Stopped at this fort enroute to Annapolis. A small blockhouse is all that is left of this fort dating back to 1750.
There are several plaques which describe the history of the fort.
The building was locked but we could see inside and there were two rooms with a set of wood steps to a second floor.
