I thoroughly enjoyed our drive through the valley d'Ait Mansour. The views are spectacular with initially wide ranging vista's of stunning rock/gorge scenery leading to a beautiful oasis with lush palm trees and greeneary. Simply stunning!

Well worth the day trip, provided you have use of a car (but be prepared to pay a small tip to the lady who minds it while you go walkabout). The palm grove and surrounding villages are beautiful.

Would recommend the best way to see Ait Mansour Gorge is either by cycle or by foot, the tracks are very impressive and a wonderful way to while away a few hours. You can bump into local goat herders and see many different types of wildlife.

Visiting d`ait Mansour gorge, preferably by foot or bike, is great fun. It is a beautiful place with very friendly locals. Sadly it got a bit of rubbish problem. When visiting the gorge do not forget to stop at Abdous guesthouse at the beginning of the trail, next to the parking place. He is a very colourful individual who makes... More

If you haven't seen any oasis you must walk there!!! You will see long palms, the shade will be cool. It's better to hire a guide. The guide will tell about caravans, will interact and more ;-)

One of the few beautiful places that has been left relatively undiscovered in Morocco, but I fear not for long. Located south of Tafroute, a beautiful gorge arises out of the mountainous area, covered in simple villages and green, green palms. The drive to the gorge can be done on your own, however you may want a 4x4 for the... More

It's an oasis hidden in a canyon. You can drive through by car or you can stop and have a walk. We stopped to have an orange juice at Auberge Ait Mansour Hanane and the view from the rooftop was great. The owner told us he's mentioned in the Lonely Planet as a guide for treks on the hills. It's... More

What an amazing route... almost just for one car in either direction. Palms abound, water gently flowing by and about half way through we had tea at the one road-side place. This was in January... not the high season and I would hope no big tourist buses later in the year. Drive the Ait Mansour and enjoy. It is one... More

Coming from Tafraoute we followed the canyon an arrived in the oasis, where the locals had started picking the dates from the palms. Interesting to drive through, but no need to stop. But general atmosphere from the inhabitants (incl. children) made it not likely that we would stay over night.

So much written about this place however if you drive to the end and then turn right you will find some magical strata mountains, nomad tents and not a soul around. You can actually return to Tafroute this way too. Dont forget to stop at the Flying Carpet panorama restaurant for mint tea....i found to be the best in Morocco.... More
