I hiked to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain today and it was great. The views were spectacular and the hike was good and challenging. There are two trails, one takes you to the top and the other goes around. The marina has boats for rent and areas for fishing and camping. Try this place out if you are ever in... More

Decided to drive north to see what I would find. Decided to go to Fairfield Bay because it is where the original Fairfield (now Wyndham) started. Didn't get to go around the lake to hear the history in the pontoon however the scenery from the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain is beautiful. There are 90 steps to get you to... More

We had the pleasure of camping at Greers Ferry Lake this passed week. Even with the extremes in the temperature we couldn't have had a better week. I equally enjoyed basking in the sun while laying in the hammock and sitting out by the campfire bundled up with two blankets. The lake is truly one of my happy places!!! It... More

Sugarloaf Mountain is so much fun to hike...Fairfield Bay Marina offers shuttle service and 2 hours to hie before a return pick up. Call them for current details.... More

What a wonderful day we had. We were visiting friends and we spent the day out on the lake in their houseboat. We cruised around to many areas, enjoying the serenity and the beautiful views. After anchoring in a relatively quiet area, a number of our friends did some swimming off the boat. We returned to the dock just as... More

Sunday drive to this lake was a treat! Loved crossing the bridges to see panoramic views of the lake. Would like to return to rent a boat and just ride around the lake. So pretty. Only down side is that the views are not easy to get to.

The lake is magnificent. The scenery is just beautiful. The fishing is excellent. I booked a guided fishing trip with the Bud Lady Fishing Guide and had a great time.

Be sure to read the short histories in the plaques there. Two workers lost their lives during construction. President Kennedy dedicated this dam in October of 1963. I was... More
