The Huguenot Monument -3 minute viewing

Poignant monument to those fallen. We noted it was in good condition and all lettering could be read.

It's a small monument in a drab square and just happened to be at the start of our walk - I wouldn't make a special trip although the efforts of those named probably mean that's the least you could do!

very insignificant....easily missed and not worth to visit. It is in a square that misses any attractiveness.

Behind the town hall stands this mini-pyramid with the names of some of the Huguenot families who fled France for South Africa more than 300 years ago, inscribed on one side. This is a small monument erected behind the Town Hall in memory of the French Hugenot’s that came to South Africa in 1688. It is a small pyramid displaying the surnames of the Hugenot’s that came.
