This plaque is sited along the R63, on the left hand side of the road as you approach the town from Jansenville. Pass the Hyundai sign , then once you pass Woeke street, be on the lookout for what I can only describe as a large anthill - a piece of dolerite which has the memorial tribute affixed to it.... Worth a brief stop because you drive right past it heading out of town toward Cape Town. The monument itself is unremarkable, but quite interesting for what it says about the important functions Jewish pedlars once had in the social fabric of this agrarian region. Also interesting, I think, was the very decision to commemorate them.
