While walking around Taiyuan, I stumbled onto this park. Finally away from the main street, I could finally get away from the cars and buses and get some semblance of "peace and quiet" in such a busy city. I only walked around the north entrance for a bit, but even then it was quite beautiful with several rock structures. Definitely... More

We were able to see many groups dancing in the park. It was winter so a lot of the attractions were closed for the winter.

Happy to stretch our legs with an evening stroll, the tour guide suggested this park, a 20 minute walk from hotel. Yingze is a free (ie no entrance fee) urban park, surrounded by highrise buildings and busy roads so its a bit of a peaceful oasis. Surprisingly quiet by the lake (boats available for rent). People seemed relaxed, lots of... More

It was clean, we felt safe and lots of locals enjoying it alongside us. People were very friendly. It had a mix of city park and amusement park all in one. KFC was across the street!

I had read about this park and finding that it was within walking distance of my hotel, decided to give it try. First off, it doesn't have to cost you anything, but it's worth the small price to take the electric cart around the lake, just to get the lie of the land. The aquarium on the other hand, is... You won't run out of things to do at Yingze Park, which is almost directly in the middle of the city. There is a pond with little boats to rent, places to buy kites, trinkets, food, and drinks, and a little area to feed the [already fat] birds. This is both fun and amusing. I learned quickly, these birds have... More

I can confirm that this is a simple, traditional and very nice city garden. Only one thing annoyed me all the time: locals were looking on me like I'm from another planet only because I'm laowai. But even this was kind of fun.
