There is a very good collection of photos & documents about his life. We had a guided tour which was rather rushed. The display was very one sided with not much dealing with atrocities etc. There is a prison cell downstairs. Interesting to see the...More

While this museum largely ignores Stalins human rights abuses it is nonetheless an interesting place to see. Huge home, grandiose and dated with a plethora of memorabilia. Including gifts to stalin, the stalin house, and his old train carriage. Take a guide (obviously biased) and...More

We read the broadly negative reviews, ignored the eye-rolling of our Georgian friends and signed up for a day trip to the Stalin museum in his hometown of Gori. To state the obvious: this is a bizarre museum, bordering on kitsch, that takes a one-sided...More

I could not stand there for a long time. Maybe I am too emotional or my imagination is too big so I could not look at those interesting things of Stalin's life without thinking about the bad things he did.

It was very interesting to visit, although we waited for the English guide to come. She was very pleasant, informative and amusing. The best part was about Stalin's tricks and the Soviet oppression stories. Special price for students. Definitely worth a visit.

The best place to get to know the figure of Stalin. The museum provides lots of information about him, even the train wagons where he travelled, the house where he was born, his office... Must go if you are interested in history and politics

As noted in other reviews, if you don't speak Russian or Georgian you won't get much infomation from the exhibition as very little of it is in English. I arrived when the museum opened and asked for an English speaking guide. I was told that...More

In my opinion, Gori would be worth only half a day. The Stalin Museum is in fact the only interesting site. Kutaisi would be a better place to stay two nights, because of the World Heritage church and a more interesting city... More
