The monument has been well maintained. The view of Trichy is great from there. It is a good architectural beauty and one ponders as if how this good have been built.

Rock Fort Temple is basically Ganesha Temple located on a big Rock Hill... need to claim around 400+ stars which are molded on rock it self... when we reach the mid way we find very small and uneven stairs... so needs to be more careful...More

on the rock fort three main temples are there at three different levels. At ground level there is a Ganesha templecalled as vinayagar,middle level there is a Shiva temple and At the peak of Rock fort there is another Ganesha Temple named Uchi Pillayar Temple.

A must do when you are in Trichy even for non Hindus. Temp,e gates open at 6am. Was there from 5:15 am as read elsewhere can start your journey fro 5:30. First start your prayers at the Pulliyar Temple before embarking on the walk up....More

Rock Fort is a Ganesh temple atop a hillock that stands out as the landmark for Trichy or Trichirapalli.. strenuous climb for seniors..nice view from the top..Rockfort or Ponmalai is a town and Rock fort express is a train.. all British Legacies..

When I was there, I have used Ola cabs (indian uber). It is cheaper than auto. Autowalas asking too much especially if you can not speak tamil. I recommend Ola if you don't want to use public transport.
