Very strange to have human remains used as a tourist drawcard. Well worth a visit. The payment for a lamp doesn't include the person carrying it so be prepared to pay more.

Well indeed, going into the caves might be a bit breath taking, both ways. The oil lamp guides however are rather unexperienced, not in guiding you literally, but in what they are telling you. They have not been trained in telling the history and traditions...More

Bizarre to see all the open coffins but it is interesting too. You will be guided around by a guide with an oil lamp.

A must visit to understand the culture better! How death is something to look up to, to be honored and preserved It's amazing how they struggle to bury their loved ones in the best highest spots, how they tend to the deads also

Of course toraja is known for the culture surrounding death. Here you can see what happens with the bodies after the grand ceremonies that are held when they past away. It is a place to see because there are only a few places in the...More

This burial cave is so amazing. Lots of history and the Torajan are proud of their tradition. There is an entrance fee charged before you come in and there is a guide who can bring you around. I recommend to take a guide and pay...More
