The ferry quite old.. But u can see a beautiful scenery from there.. Its very big so u wont feel.. Dont worry its not gonna make u seasick..

We took the Butterworth train station shuttle bus to the ferry terminal and it was really easy to get on board the ferry. The walkway from the bus drop off was easy to navigate to the turnstiles and waiting area, and boarding announcements were clear.

A fairly easy and well-signposted walk from Butterworth Railway Station for foot passengers with light luggage, thanks to the covered walkway connecting the station with the ferry terminal. Went on a rainy day and the covered walkway kept everyone dry. Best to have your RM1.20...More

As one reaches the Rapidpenang bus terminal at Weld Quay.. newly painted arches ..side stalls where one could purchase titbits.. bottles of favorite drinks before one walks towards the ferry. As you walk towards the ramp as one waits for the arrival of ferry .....More

The journey takes about 20 minutes, lil bit dirty sea, but viewable scenery, you can also sea the Penang bridge.

Same location just after the come out of the ferry, less than 100meter walk. I am 99% sure there is no bus back to penang as the main idea was you take the ferry to butterworth and take bus elsewhere in Malaysia. Best take... More

No problem to take luggage, its all very easy, people take their cars and motorbikes! Enjoy the easiness of it and the little or no cost.
