Nice way to spend an afternoon

Beautiful drive up the mountain to this Monastery. Involves lots of steps and climbing but is worth it. Great views. .

There are a lot of Buddhist temples to visit in Nepal. The location of Thrangu Tashi outside of Kathmandu proper and the views make it worth the trek. And it is a trek (there are a lot of stairs, and you can walk to/from Panauti or Dhulikhel). The shrine room is one of the most beautiful I have seen. We... More

We hiked to the monastery from Dhuilkhel. The stupa is slightly below the monastery, which is reached via some fairly steep steps. Note that the hike is on a combination of blacktop and dusty dirt roads...not the best terrain, but the destination is worth it. Beautiful view and tranquil surroundings with many prayer flags.

We did a days hike from when I was staying at Bhattedanda homestay. Beautiful monastery and a lovely view. Nice and peaceful atmosphere. Also not so many tourists.

Full day tour with a private car (AC) and guide costed 110 USD and it was worth of it. The walk started in Dhulikhel and ended in Panauti (2 + 2 hours). The path went trough small villages and passed several farmers houses. Weather was sunny and completely clear, no fog nor clouds. All the tops of Himalaya mountain were... More

We walked from Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha. It took us about 5 hours but we stopped a lot on the way. The monastery is really beautiful, the paintings and carvings are amazing. The view is stunning, especially for sunrise. We had the chance to attend the night ceremony with the monks which was really impressive. We slept in the monastery's... More

Namobuddha is a magical experience! Such a beautiful setting and awesome to spend the night and be able to share space with the monks during meal times or morning prayer. Thank you!

You can stay overnight in the monastery and share the vegetarian meals with the meals. You can also see their daily buddhist rituals performed every morning and evening time and at the same time, you can do meditation as well. It is one of the biggest monasteries of Nepal and the monastery commands one of the stunning views of the... More

Namoboudha is a nice pilgrimage site once should visit. If you have one or more day in Kathmandu, you may spend a day and night there. Since monastery has guesthouse to live, could be great choice to stay a night. You could join for Puja (praying and offering) Also this place provide nice sunrise and sunset including great mountain views,... More
