If you are in the area visit this place. It is well designed, educational and interesting. Reserve 1-2 hours. Not sure why it is not allowed to take pictures inside.

We were really looking forward to the visit. Beautiful landscape and buildings. Some information, but not as interactive and deep as we expected. It was some videos, some displays, lots of empty space... I think if there were some live talk or walk through learning...More

It's a good historical museum, but the narrative is told from an official perspective. It's very good on the crucial colonial promotion of the opium trade into SE Asia, but it glosses over the history of the US military and CIA involvement in the establishment...More

Beautiful and fairly new museum. A lot of history on the opium trade. Definitely worth a visit. Very close to the Golden Triangle.

This is a small museum with lots of interesting history about opium. If you are in the area or driving by it is worthwhile to stop, but I would not go out of your way to visit. It is not a must see.

If you are interested in the back story of the Golden Triangle and the opium trade this is the place to do it. I wouldn't plan to spend a lot of time here.
